Neither cast nor molded, Sounding II is handwoven from nearly 1,000 individually formed and interlocked rings. A dense woven sterling-silver core gives the sculpture an unexpected weight in the palm. Though entirely metal, its woven structure retains the visual softness of cloth.
According to event organizers, Sounding II achieved the highest auction result among the artworks offered that evening.
